Cheers, Caution, and Pushback: Reactions to the Psychedelics EO
Reactions to the executive order and issuance of three CNPVs have continued to come in from mainstream media, political figures, and the public.
Many psychedelics advocates and industry insiders welcomed the package of potential accelerants. Those voices included psychedelic philanthropist and advocate Genevieve Jurvetson, who told Psychedelic Alpha that she is “thrilled to see the administration and Dr. Marty Makary already following through on their commitments”, commenting following the issuance of those three CNPVs.
But Jurvetson also said she is hoping to see Resilient’s MDMA for PTSD program prioritised, too. “PTSD sits at the centre of the veteran suicide crisis, and we should be accelerating access to the treatments with the strongest evidence”, she said, adding: “MDMA-assisted therapy is at the top of that list.”
“When Resilient submits its updated data to the FDA,” she went on, “I hope the FDA prioritises the review.”
