CBS 60 Minutes Brings Psychedelic Medicine to the Masses
One of the world’s most popular news magazine broadcasts shines a light on the emergent psychedelic medicine space.
On August 16th, 2020, CBS’ popular 60 Minutes show, re-ran an episode exploring the re-emergence of psychedelics as a subject of medical research, and how the substances may help people with addictions and anxiety.
The report draws attention to the emerging body of research suggesting the efficacy of psychedelic drugs like psilocybin and LSD in treating depression, anxiety, and addiction, claiming “early results are impressive”.
The episode, fronted by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, spoke to leading researchers at Johns Hopkins University, as well as individuals who have taken psychedelic substances as part of these trials. Cooper also spoke to influential thinkers like Michael Pollan.
